★4/5ALBUMS

4/5/2026

i've come on to the gorillaz train two decades too late, but just in time to anticipate this religious experience of an album. i have to give mad credit on the top for the respect and celebration of indian culture and ethnomusicology all throughout. using indian musicians and traditional instrumentation brought so much love and care to this that as a listener, reads exclusively as a devotion to the entire concept and experience. the manifesto featuring trueno and proof stands out in particular for me, because the juxtaposition of spanish rap over tabla and bansuri was hallucinogenic, truly. this is like the poster child for cultural fusion, the pinnacle.
