about

my earnest attempt at recreating the internet of yesteryear.

i was born in the year 2000. i'm of the generation on the tail end of myspace, friendster, and right at the forefront of tumblr and 4chan (blegh) in their golden eras. i updated my msn profile pic with gifs (hard g) doing the 'awkward turtle', asked my dad whenever owl city dropped a new song to upload it to my mp3 player, mastered the art of swiftly switching tabs whenever someone walked by the family computer, you get the idea. ultimately, unregulated internet access as a child was probably not ideal for my development, but the y2k nostalgia is DEEP when it comes to the online communities of the era. people used to just say stuff for fun; no sponsorships and promo codes, no algorithm force-feeding, just mini-cultures of people who joined together because of shared interests. i find myself today craving to fill the void blog culture left, so my hope is to create a tiny little community of artists, creatives, weirdos, and people with big opinions to join me as i ramble about stuff i love, stuff i hate, and even stuff i know NOTHING about but chat with other people who do. i've also got bit of my own personal portfolio, because it wouldn't be fair to dish and not take. i hope you stay for awhile and find something you enjoy in the cybersoprano-space.

sincerely,

CS 🪩✨

p.s. a promise from me to you: a grand total of 0% of this website will be written with a.i. everything that i claim is my art or writing, i solemnly swear it is. my personal core values surround making community and fostering creativity, and i simply cannot imagine how letting chatgpt write a book review or whatever would help me do that. and you whould keep me accountable too! if i ever review content that is (unknowing to me) made by a.i., PLEASE let me know. let's support people making stuff together!
