zenosyne (noun): the feeling that time is getting faster
each time my scalp pushes out a white hair,
i'm befuddled by how it could have grown
to full length without noticing it there.
in fairness, the paranoia i'm known
for can sometimes lengthen wings of time, prone
to flights of fancy. the sweat from my brow
picks up speed, the momentum like a vow
from gravity that no matter how sure
you are of your handle on things right now,
time has a way of shaking the assured.
