little fish - casey plett
★5/5BOOKS

published by arsenal pulp press (2018)
This book is a road trip for the heart, it takes you everywhere. it is beautiful, and hard, and so so raw. i just adore wendy as a protagonist; she is honest and she’s not perfect and at times not even likeable, and yet i still want the best for her. the characters are written so faithfully; i feel like i’ve met each of them in my own life. the weather acts as a character itself, and as a canadian i really connect with the unpredictability of it. the setting of small town winnipeg adds so much tension and colour. i loved this book so much, i really think it belongs among the greats of queer fiction.
